Chistmas is gone....2009 is here!

T'was the night before Christmas......well what can I say about Christmas? This was the first year that Aubree was really into the whole "Santa" craze. Christmas Eve JD and I were up until 3 am wrapping presents and putting together a very large doll house. Aubree woke up about 7 am and was just wowed by all the gifts Santa brought. The whole day was pretty amazing for her. It really makes you appreciate all that your parents did for you to really believe. Right now she is disappointed in people who still have their Christmas lights up and says "Mom, they need to take down their lights, its not Christmas anymore. And Santa is going to get mad because they aren't listening." What can I say....she has high expectations. This should be a pretty interesting new year for us Norton's. Aubree turns 4 in March and I am afraid of what else this little person is going to teach me! No, she is just so much more intelligent than I give her credit for and everyday is different. So 2009 is just going to keep amazing me as she continues to grow. Just the other day she said to me "Mom, two hands on the steering wheel please. Just like I do in my Jeep." Okay, now I have a back seat driver. She got a Barbie Jeep for Christmas and all of a sudden she is a expert driver. (She gets if from me though, so I can only complain to myself...really). I have other challenges coming our way this year. Daddy leaves for Afgan in April for 3 months and considering how she did for a month while he was in Florida could possibly be a very long 3 months.....more so for JD. She was really mad at him and wouldn't talk to him for being gone. I am just going to cross my fingers that she understands a little better this time. Thus far that is the only major 09 plans, but as we know life brings us so much more and to pretty much expect it. :)

Sounds like a great Christmas! We have a back seat driver too, but he is a constant echo of the GPS voice, whom we shall call Maria. "Daaaadddeeee, turn right, right." They are so funny at 3 and 4.
