So here we are at the Christmas tree lighting. Santa was brought in on a ship, JD and I really questioned that theory. Aubree did too, so I guess we all think alike. Santa did the whole Christmas tree lighting and then he was taking the kids' wish list. When it was Aubree's turn, which I was already prepared for the total melt down and her whole shy bit but nope......to my surprise she walked right up to him sat on his lap and told him everything she wanted for Christmas. There was one point she even had to think (the pic with her finger to her face) about what she wanted. She listened to everything he had to say. I would say she was with him for a good 7 minutes and not once was she scared!
So I guess it goes to say that she is not a baby anymore. At that very moment I realized (not for the first time, but confirming) that she was a little girl and how fun it was to see her really believe in Santa. It really brings the kid out in you again to see this. I think this is the first year JD and I are having a blast with Christmas for her. Just to hear her say "I am being a good girl, do you think Santa is coming to my house?" I am a true believer now that children behave the most during the month of December. For the very threat of "Santa won't come and bring presents if you are going to be bad and not listen to Mommy or Daddy". Can we do this every month? LOL. But what a fun season we are having. I can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning........:)
